Furthermore, while a serious run has a serious set of rules (Tank does THIS, dps does THIS, no exceptions etc) this non serious content does not. Even if they are kind of hard, they aren't Now, this means you only need to take things as seriously as is require to finish the run. I think the thing you need to keep in mind is this. And when AOE was so prominent there was no point in marks because those bars switched off which was lowest like crazy. I have also done tanking for a LONG time, and I delt with both the part of WoW when if you didn't organize (mark etc) you died, and when marking literally took longer than the dps took to kill it. I think the difference in opinions here is based on how serious both the content in question is, and how serious the players take it. Is it 100% needed? No!īut on my 50 dragoon I know I find it much smoother to not have to guess which target is the main one, and it immediately puts all of us on the same page. I like marking, it takes a lot of guesswork out of things and makes it much easier on the DPS with almost no cost to whoever decides to do the marking. I've only tanked up to Brayflox, so maybe things get insane later on for tanks and I don't know it, but in my experience it literally takes all of a few seconds to mark a full group, and once the first mark is on (alt and one mouse click) I can pull safely and mark up the rest once combat starts. How long do you imagine it takes to mark? I have targets 1-4 bound to alt 1-4 on my Razer Naga and if I can't mark during a run up to the next group, there is absolutely no reason I can't mark while waiting for global cooldowns. Have fun stopping to mark while Tonberries stab you in the back, GG. With pugs.no marks.Īlso FYI you can't sleep the buzzards anymore and the the small tonberries can see behind them now. Today I learned: don't run dungeons with Otakingīefore the servers went down again just now I ran WP twice, darklight shield and pants and helm upgrade dropped for me.
